Based off our own classroom experiences, we know how crucial it is for students to have a strong understanding of the foundational skills that are first presented in kindergarten. Avoiding the Summer Slide
First Coast Learning Specialists strategically designed this program for current elementary-aged students. While creating this program, we used our own classroom experience and purposely chose the most important skills that are often challenging or can easily be forgotten. Since this program is designed without any grade-specific content, it is appropriate for all elementary-aged students.
We will focus on the most important skills presented in reading. Students will build their phonemic awareness, develop advanced phonological understandings, integrate word study, deepen their vocabulary development, improve spelling and handwriting, and deepen their comprehension skills. This will all lead to an increase in your child’s confidence and a more successful school year will follow.
