Katie’s extensive experience has allowed her to gain a deeper understanding on how to close the educational gaps struggling students may possess.
Katie believes it’s crucial for students to have a strong understanding and mastery of the foundational skills (learned in K-2), in order for them to easier access grade level content and curriculum. These primary skills set the stage for the rest of their academic success, and are the first stepping stones to the more rigorous ones they will be exposed to for the rest of their schooling years. Once she has a true understanding of what your child needs, she will then create multiple learning goals and determine the appropriate program(s) to implement.

She has a wide range of experiences in public education, pediatric educational rehabilitation, and residential therapeutic IEP programs.
Reading intervention has always been her passion, working with specific reading programs aimed at helping students with reading disabilities or those with reading difficulties. It is the responsibility of teachers to find how students learn best, to increase their confidence level, and make learning fun. Linda believes that simple, yet research-based reading interventions, are crucial to reading success at any grade level. When more than one sense (auditory, visual, kinesthetic, or tactile) is used in conjunction with learning, children are more likely to remember and learn. It is so important for parents and students to practice repeated readings, review sight words in a specific manner (sandwich-drill), and read every day together for at least 20 minutes.
